Well basically ive been riding my dt for abit and already want to move onto a bigger bike. As i dont have much experience on 600 + cc i thought for my own safety and insurance purposes id go for a little 400 to start with. so basically just wanting to know whats the best 400 ive been looking at zxr 400 ands im pretty decided but before i go making any decisions just want to get other peoples opinions and no i dont want to hear get da zxr bruv cuz dere kawazaki and dere sick. useful contributions only lol. so yeah i know theres a few people on here who know theyre stuff about the bigger bikes and mabye if you could throw a few other ideas of potential bikes into the mix aswell that would be great. cheers for any help guys.
I think the best option would be a cbr400 me thinks....if you ask why...donno just like em ...better go for that.
head gaskets are meant to be a problem on the zxr4, not sure why or how, also IMO the ram air tubes are fugly, iv always liked kawasaki's, but id never own one lol, il leave that to people that can afford to fix them/ be off the road for weeks at a time. Good point is its the most powerfull 400, but only by about 5bhp, not sure on the handeling. If i had to choose itd be between the cbr4/vfr4, the gsx4 is too rare, an out of the cbr4 and vfr4 itd have to be the cbr4, simply because its an inline-4, which means a more interesting power delivery and much cheaper/easyier servicing also the ride position isnt as back breaking as the vfr but still sporty. EDIT: your dt is restricted :msn1:
get a honda rvf400! best by far!!!! ive had cbr400 as first bike when i was 17, the main promblom is they hv a weak 2nd gear! and the pegs tought to easy! also had a vfr was gd but cbr was better then i got my rvf400 and loved it, it neaver broke one and was faster than the vfr and cbr and my mate zxr,
the riding position is a bit firm on the vfrs but by far they have the best looks and one of the best perfromance of them all, they are very advanced for what they are i think the top end is something silly like 145 at 16k but if you do buy a vfr dont by the shitty ones, buy a nc30 not a pox 21 but if it was me id go for a cbr4, lovely bikes alot cheaper than the vfrs too by far.
nar dotn get a vfr! get a rvf! rvf is a mile better bikes in every was) it gose rvf400 nc35 then cbr400 nc29, then prob a vfr400 nc30! rvf400 is best by far and vfr only do like 128 think honda say they do, the 2 i did oionyl did 125, both rvf and cbr did 135
"i could not concerntrate on what this old man was saying" all i could think about was what it meant in english
Yeh my dad had 2 nc30's. fuckin lovely bikes for their age and size. Got enuff poke for a 400. Some bastard pikeys come round the flat an slung one of em on the back of a tranny tipper. The fuckerssss :wallbash: You would love an NC30 j. and im tellin ya it'll be smaller to sit on than ur DT!! lol
Yea but rvf's go for stupid money, all other 400's you can get for less than a grand. You could get a nice, newer 600/750 for rvf money
still think zxr400 they do 140 and i think the shape on them is more modern than the others i.e they dont have the square arse on them and the l model has nice front light too :A not the 2 round ones. Well they made them up until 2000 and didnt change the look from 1991 so ya know
I got my 600 for £900 and paid £500 insurance TPFT at 19, now paying £300 at 20, 21 next year so can't be too bad. You got any quotes on one or you just set on the 400 for speed safety etc? As long as you treat the bike with respect, the bike will be fine for you
lol i was pillion on the back of a FZR 1000 today due to the kmx being off the road my mate dropped me home on it. and FUCKIN HELL we ran out of road, thank fuck, but fuck me... we reached 150mph LOL no joke, swear on my mums life fastest thing YET ive ever been on i cant stop grinning lol silly thing is itll do 180mph (270kmh) with me off it and a nice stretch of road
Gsxr 400 boss has got one its a track bike spec yet have all the normal bodywork and the v5 he wants £1500 ono very rare bike its had overr £1500 TRADE spent on it.
