i know theres been lots of posts about this sorta thing but i cant figure it out. my bike has good acceleration up to 40, then it struggles and takes ages to get up to 50, then it goes quickly up to about 57. any ideas whats causing this struggle?

heres the setup: standard 50 kit, leo vince tt (jetted correctly), 17.5mm delly, enki vreed kit, transmition is all malossi, brand new 6g rollers.

Hi there it sounds like heavy rollers to me and 6g rollers are a little heavy for your setup.

Did the problem start to happen after fitting a particular part? And what size mainjet are you actually running? (it should be around the 58-62 mark)

it could be because you are driving a 50cc you are lucky to be getting 50mph my friends nrg 2005 will not go over 47 mph

the rollers are a tad too light i think, i had lighter but it ran like crap. and my mainjet is 83 i think, which is high i know but its definately not running rich. it started after i fitted stiffer clutch springs, but if i go back the ones i had with my exhaust the pull away is disgustingly slow.

is the engine revving high or low during this so called dip in power...i like the way you say in 1 post the carb is definitely jetted correctly, and then in another post you say its jetted a bit rich :confused:cratch:

clutch springs wont affect the top speed of your scooter, once youve got going the shoes will be in contact with your clutch bell and you have full drive, unless of course you fitted stupidly strong springs and your engine isnt powerful enough to generate the required centrifugal force to overcome the springs and give full drive, but you would definitely notice the clutch slipping if that was the case ;)

thanks for the replys, the problem got worse this week and the bike topped out at 50 :( so i whipped it apart and i think i found the problem: a light score going all the way down the barrel and piston. time for a polini sport kit i think.

No dont buy a polini sport kit if you've just managed to wreck a 50 bore, which are almost bombproof.. Your'll merk a 70kit in no time!
