hi all been googleing as i do lol and been looking at the piaggio x9 250 engine and from what i can see looks like a 125 180 200 vxr engine only its a 250 and 22bhp out the factory can anyone shed any light on this thanks steve
there based on the same casing... i belive theres some slight machining differences but ye, there quick straight out the box. more torque than most tunned 2t's and more hp than the majority too. they use them in the vespa gts250, i belive these are the most similar to the 200 engines. verry quick bike, motorway muncher and easily tewaked for a lil more power/better acceleration
cheers ive been reading about them alot seems there just a stroked leader engine all easy apart from the ignition timing side of things i was hoping to use runner cdi and coil etc but what determines the advance on these ignition systems and also whats the triggering system these are my only worries with the conversion im used to a dizzy with ecu this is different im assumin the cdi ? does this thanks steve tdc sensor perhaps ?
ye the cdi takes place of the dizzy, altho there is an electronic gate or "trigger" between the stator, flywheel and pickup, there is no physical contact and any offset, advance or retard function is taken place of by the cdi and not the old dizzy spinning ether direction
