im looking atm for a 125 runner 2t and it seems like der rare as i cant find one or a decent one to buy on the other hand the 4t ones eg. the VX there are plenty. im not looking to mod my scooter much but i know 2t are faster and supposedly less reliable i also know that its more epensive to fix 4t if they break. im not sure and i need some advice as i need a bike asap.
2stroke nice quick and easy to maintain and each and every ride is guarantee'd to put a big smile on your face :yahoo:
4 stroke all the way. the money you save in fuel and oil over a 2 stroke will pay for the extra little bits that hardly ever break cratch:
buy a 4t if you are buying as a means of transport. buy a 2t if you are after speed related thrills, simples (i love that meercat man)
as fire said, dont be buying a 2t 125 and expecting to ride it daily to work... you can but as standard and they still go wrong more often than a 4t.. they get nicked alot and yes there tempting to tune as you get some SILLY results.. can triple the power with bolt on goodies..this completly kills drivability/long journeys.. decide WHY you want the bike.
minor man, its almost painful advising some one to buy a 4t lol, shit im becoming sensible hock: :clapping: :rotfl:
yeh i understand, i want the bike to get to college more or less on a day to day basis, i shud be getting this runner sp its all stock and im not gona tune it at all. i mean i want a reliable bike but also somthing with a bit of a kick and a 2t seems like the better option if well looked after and left with standard parts.
me and jack had nice 2 stroke runner 125s that we never tuned at all. they were serviced all the time and they were quick as fuck its when you start adding filters and having as flat rollers as poss
no offence.. they were both what, 2 years old at the time? LOL you WONT find a GOOD stock runner anymore.. if you do its STILL been sat somwhere for atleast 5 years. they WILL go wrong unless you change everything that can possibly break.. thats just old bikes for you. i wanna see some old vx's still going in 10 years.. the old shapes are fast drying up tbh (good clean ones anyway) i recon the 2t will LONG outlive the old shape vx. but ye runners are no longer considderd transport, they are a collectors bike, used for sundays, locked away for nobody to steal and generally getting harder and harder to get bits for. plus they suck. wc engines are just known for fucking up.. even reliable ones are never comp[letly reliable.. a 4t you CAN literally treat it like a car. you will never be able to treat one of these like a car. new stock one serviced nicely and NEVER modified yes, 2 strokes can be reliable, but nobody leaves them alone. nobody
mine was over 4 years old. had been ragged to fuck and was battered as fuck with a touch of monty magic it was a nice runner and it was also serviced so ran well even though it had loads of miles
iv got a vx 125 and there a wicked ped...mines all standard (putting a few parts on it now though) they've got a good sound and if your light like me (only way 9 stone :/) i had 80 clock speed on mine on the A52...toook a while but yeh dead good bike...and put a leo vince 4 road exhaust and see how many look you get lol.
without 4 strokes 2 strokes would be dead now not many 2 strokes about now without the majority of parts being from a 4 stroke
true mont but you could say that about many industry's, things change . a 2t's only place is as a colleable toy now days. but to be on honest the only 4 stroke thing i could or would own would be a big bike or car. and why do people insist on lying to them selfs that 4t sound good!!!!! hock:
i dont care what they sound like. i know my maintenence is peanuts 85mph on the clocks, 80mpg who cares otherwise. i dont do wheelies so dont need a 2 stroke lol
not all about "doing whwwlies" as you can wheely a 4t. i ride 2 strokes as i prefer them (i plain hate 4 stroke engines.. they should all be gottgen rid of the orible oil burners that they are) its a choice between fun and practicality... fun people chose 2t's and dont mind ripping it apart weekly.. sensible people buy 4t's. im in NO way sensible and its not just a bike/mode of transport to me so a 4t REALLY dont cut it... rather a 50 2t than a 125 4t
with my 180 it used to wheelie. whether i wanted to or not, so the 4 strokes good as 2 wheels stay on the ground just how i like it
shit we should make monty the 4 stroke scooter ambassador :write: :clapping: :mod: . i think owning a scooter is all about fun (well for most). no boot, shit in the rain (doesn't do that often over tho right? lol), cars view you as a anger management tool and all the other problems associated with owning one. you have to like bikes to want one, and lets face it, its a lot more fun then sitting in traffic in a car so their is a fan factor in owning one and if i had a 4t i would always think of how much more fun i would be having on a 2 toker
