Hi i just got a 25mm dellorto for my sr 125, im having a problem there's no fuel getting from the carb to the manifold, i have checked all jets and anything i can get to myself, everything looks clean and clear, i know the bike runs, put petrol down manifold it fires up, anyone got any suggestions on what else i can try ?
Well its a brand new rebuild crank flowed cases seals bearings piston the lot, so its a first time starting, pooring petrol into manifold it fires up straight away, I havnt tryed the original carb as I have lost the needle clip and I think the 25mm clip is bigger, allso its second hand but looks in very good shape, think its running d2 needle 102 main jet and I think other jet is 70
lil update cleared all jets with compressed air everything is cleaned, i can get the bike started if i take fiter off cover the filter side of the carb with my hand and kick the bike it pulls petrol and starts fine, allso there is no exhaust on the bike atm could that do anything to the carb maybe not anoth back pressure or something ??
lol, so you have a 50% built bike and you want to know why it would start. i think you know why dont you
lol thunmb ups for trying to start a fresh built 2 stroke with no exhaust!! that will do wonders for the sucker
its only the exhaust that was missing so not sure how its 50% as its got a huge hole in the down pipe, allso sorted now put a tad of silicone around the manifold and reed block, fired straight up
it's only 50% because on a 2t the exhaust is the second biggest part of the engine, the way the exhaust works is a very important part
yea i know the exhaust is important just wanted to make sure it would still start without it, thats why i asked, it starts anyway there was just no point putting the pipe on as it was doing nothing with the huge hole in the down pipe, only wanted to get it started just for 2-3 seconds just to make sure it would start, starts first kick got a zx pipe on the way
