Greetings, I've just bought a delorto 25mm carb to replace the origional delorto carb on my soon to be rebuilt 172 runner..I have noticed a few differences... Firstly..it doesn't have the automatic choke...so I'm assuming I can just use the manual choke and forget about it?? Secondly the the origional had a heat element screwed in to it..the 25 doesn't have it...again I'm assuming this isn't an issue either..so do I ditch this too? do I just leave the connectors.. Plus inside the slide there is a metal disc (that the spring sits on)that came flying out with the spring when I undid the top of the carb to attach the cable...now I'm assuming this should be placed with the small raised lip facing downwards..as this keeps the cable situated in the correct place on the slide base??..like the white circled part that sits in the recess on the smaller carb slide? Cheers
Yes to all.. 1. Replace that cable choke with a flip up Dell'Orto one as it WILL break soon(£12) 2. Cable tie the carb heater somewhere safe
Why would you want an auto choke? In answer to your question the largest carb ive heard of is a 22mm carb by dellorto. But the 21mm is more favoured.
