right at the moment i have been trying to run an evo like it runs but boggs out up to bout 20 then rele goes and just all in all doesnt run smoothly at all now is this becuase i have a 21mm instead of say a 28mm would sort of difference would that make and can anyone recommend anything else to try cause having trouble selling it
ok, first off your having lots of troubelw ith this as your diagnosing your prob wrong, get an ajustable clutch and wind it up, get it so the wear is even then ajust equally tighter and tighter till the takeoff rpm is in the powerband of the barrel. the carb isnt your prob, the fact the evo makes fuck all power untill around 9k is. your clutch is set to bite WAY to low in the revs hence it engages then you have to literally gain speed to gain rpm till the power kicks in. fuck all to do wiht the carb altho its easily mistaken, same with rollers... get your carb rich (refer to somone elses setup) then set transmission... once its pulling and revving as it should you can set the carb up.
What carb was james running on his minor and what setup was he roughly running to give owen a rough idea.
cheers mate cause i would like to run this evo but at the moment i dont see its worth it because i need to work out how to get the ped to have torque etc and run smooth not like its going to fall to pieces any second etc
evo = high revving setup... it wont go bang, dont panic. its ment to do those rpm's... james had a 25 but its a piggy, wouldent have a clue with a rox especially with a copy'd pwk. orible things. just set it rich (whatever that is) and get the clutch/rollers right, it revs RIGHT up befor moving, this is normal. dont be scared, you will appreciate it when its right, probably lookin sub 3g rollers in a rox (total specualtion) but the piggy's ive done have run as low as 3.7g rollers... says it all i think
thanks very much minor at the moment i have 3g in there so i need to get a decent clutch so that when u rev it. its already at 9000rpm because at the moment when u rev it on tick over it doesnt sound smooth its just like dull if i was to change the carb wat would you recommend
dont do rox's so fuck knows... a REAL pwk 28 is the usual choice (not a bgm/stage 6 one as there pritty shoddy tbh)
all made poorly in india for about a quid a go... dont waste your time. just find a real one on ebay or stick with a dell.. there more ped friendly to setup tbh. dont get mer wrong the pwk's are fuckin great carbs but deffo not the easiest to setup/find bits for
theres a million variables.. basicly get the clkutch sorted, then rollers, then fuck about with the carb,m you WONT get an accurate carb reading with the transmission un set
tbh we all know that how high the evo revs and i dont know about anyone else but i reckon it revs well to much for the road.
course it dosent, think of a honda rs125 or a tzr 125/250 or aprilia 2t, they all rev around the same as an evo if not more.
tbh i now need my ped to be able to get to work and back 3 days a week and i dont reckon the evo can handle it to much hassel of things braking etc
dont get me wrong it is quick and i do like it but my mates running a polini sport setup and its brillent loads of fun to ride and hes on it day in day out it never braks down my evo was also braking down and just cause me hassel to setup and its still not right yet it shit tbh i just want something that power wheelies and hits round 70 now i have had enough after constant spending and nothing going right
a honda rs is a track bike.. the tzr nsr and aprilia are lucky to see 13k.. the evo can hit well over this
no, peak power is rated at 14.5... depends entirely on the pipe how high it go's.. 14.5 peak is a little diff to 13000 MAX tho isnt it. max rpm with an evo crank combi is 16+k
