Got told bout this forum, coz got a little problem. Basically got a runner 125vx fitted a 210 kit, and a 34mm carb, and a vemon Exhaust runs and thats, but its taking in to more air or fuel. the thing is that i can't pull the throttle back all the way as it seem to fine a dead spot. also i can't put the standard airfilter on the bike as it wont runner with it on, so i'm runnering it without a airfilter. i know the bike has the specs to be fast but this problem is just holding it back. let me know ur thoughts!! thanks
mabey an introduction then a visit to www.scootershack.co.uk and click guides trather than forum.. whole page written on jetting, or look about. many times this is answerd.. (unless of course you dont care and only want an answer now and here like most people)
sounds like its running lean when you rev it, but 4stroke carbs are a whole different load of shit, something i wouldnt touch take it to a shop that have build 4t bikes before and let them sort it
Well, no.... If its been written before or answered somewhere else, that person should try and search or read up on the guides available etc, THEN if they still cant figure out a problem, by all means post thier problem. Questions that get asked over and over again piss people off and gives the admin more of a job than they already do by having to clear it all.
a forum is a groupe of people who get along an help each other./.. you commin on askin some random question without even a @hi im blah blah@ in the introduction section, getting your awnser and going isnt exactly helpin the comunity.. whoever fitted the 210 should be able to advise you best, if you fitted it yourself id try grqabbin a jet pack for the carb and playing around a little... as stated jetting has been coverd many times an its the same for 2t and 4t prittymuch. the guide will help as i previously said.
easy mate dont take it personal that i ask! as stated above, this is a frum so questions do get asked!!! thanks for the advice!
wewre all more than hapopy to help./.. b ut read how you asked./.. "i joined coz i got a problem" so you gonna hang about after us free workin scoot fenatics have sorte\d your problem? just put a "hi everyone" in intro.. not hard an doesent look like your just here for an answer.. if we were payd/advertised id be glad to work that way but we dont get any money out of this site simply to save YOU having to look at adverts/popups.. friendly comunity here usually an im sure the 4t owners will be more than helpfull
i gather as you cant run an airbox its far too rich. find out what jet is in it (main jet) and get a jet pack from scooter centre
right i changed my rollers from a standard vx125 and wow what a difference. the bike was performing well until i brought a jetting kit. now the kit came with a needle and jets: 112,115,118 now when i was changing my needle, i took out the float and my needle didn't have a c-clip so the needle wasn't on the second grove, but all the way down. so i changed the needle and put a c-clip and put the needle on the second grove. the jet that was in the carb was a 135 jet, so i put the 118 in the carb and put it all back together and the bike was running shit. so i put the 135 back in but left the needle on the second grove, and the bike was still running shit. so i started playing with the idle and mix screws. now the bike is running like shit and need some advice on how to set the carb back up.??? wanna know about the idle and mixing screw. thanks
well since you've fiddled with it and dont really no what u have done. best bet is to buy a haynes manual, get hold of the standard carb, and set it back to the default settings i.e idle mix etc. get the bike running as it should, then use the settings of standrd carb and apply similar to the other carb.
ok, lets start from the top. symptoms are poor running a 4 stroke has all its power in the top end, the culprit is looking like carburation, however it could also be tight valves. first thing to do is check that you have about 6 thou clearance on the valves when they are fully closed (a little more wont hurt) next you want to start with the needle on the middle notch, the jetting about 20% bigger than standard and the air screw about 3 1/2 turrns out. this should give you a very baseline setting for you to play with. remember you can overfuel a 4 stroke without too much performance loss, so start off big with the jetting, run the bike warm and put your hand over the exhaust (not to kill it) if the fumes smell excessively of fuel and the engine is thoroughly warm, i would consider down jetting. also check your oil condition as this can have a detremantal effect on running. im not a 4 stroke expert so i cant give any precise answers but i hope this helps
