2011 Peugeot Vivacity 50cc flashing oil light

Evening all,
Purchased a new old stock Vivacity 50cc
My son has travelled 80km with no issue, but today while riding the oil light started flashing.
Plenty of oil in the tank, so I checked the electric fuel pump and it’s not getting a pulse to the earth, so not pumping,
Could this be the control unit at fault?
I have tested the pump and it functions correctly when an earth feed is added.

any info is much appreciated

 

Check the connection to the oil tank sender unit. It's old stock bike so the connection could be loose.
