Well i picked up an aerox a few days ago, and its all going well. I stripped it down to have a look at the engine and everything, and have a slight dilema... with me coming from a motocross background, i generally know what im doing with engines and stuff, but this thing just baffles me! This aerox carb has 2 water pipes going from the cylinder head to the carb, 2 pipes to the fuel tank, a throttle cable, and like 3 more pipes init, whereas my mx bike carb just has fuel and throttle. what do these pipes do? i know ones for oil, just dont know which one. i think ones supposed to be vacuum, but i dont get what thats for? why does it have water pipes going to the carb? all the shit on this carb just frys my mind! also, soon im on about putting a 17.5mm carb onto the original 50cc engine, will this run right? or will the carb be too big and get shite airflow? thanks,
Water pipes?... You should have fuel pipe and depression pipes (both going to fuel pump), oil pipe going to oil pump, throttle cable and choke cable.
Ps: you need depression to feed fuel to the carb as it is not a free flowing fuel system (usually using a tap)
17.5 is fine on standard engine (pretty sure some peds do use 17.5 as standard) anything bigger is overkill Sry for scattered replies on the bus back from work
this thing has a fuel pump!? i know theres a pipe going from the 2stroke tank to the right hand side of the engine, so im assuming this is the oil pump? fuel pump ive never seen, it just has 2 pipes going from the tank to the carb. and yea ive read aeroxs have water pipes going through the carb, which kinda mindfucks me since ive never seen it before thanks for the replies
Care to take a pic of those water pipes? There is def some confusion here. Aerox uses standard carb. Fuel pump is a pressure one, not mechanical one. It the gold thing both pipes are connected to, underneath the tank if you remove it u need a tap and can get rid of the depression. The pipes from the water pump should go to the engine itself.
