Fitted a 200 engine out of a vespa gt to my vx125 over the weekend, the only thing i have done is upjetted to 118. Using my pm61 pipe. Wow what a increase in performance. Had just over 80 out of it on a A road (off the clock). Just wondering if its worth buying anything else for it like malossi variator clutch or high gears. I dont want the thing blowing up, its in really good nick, no corrosion and starts off the button.

Another thing is the bike is coming up to 6 years old first used jan 2006. The forks and shocks are origional as is the frame. Checked the frame for rust or deformation and looks fine. Im just worried about something going at high speed and me having to dive out of the way of cars following me, maybe i should get the fork springs replaced? they seem fine. Any advice on that?

what are u actually asking about? it seems that u go from boring out ur cylinder to asking about what forks u should get :/ .. but malossi ones i know are obviously the choice.

malossi variators normally give the gearing more scope for increasing speed, and more linear acceleration, the clutch only controls 0-15 mph, as long as it is doing its job, it can't do any more, as for a gear-up kit, if the engine is screaming at top speed, would be of benefit, if it isn't over revving then it could lower your top speed, guess you would get one with a small ratio increase. If you engine is screaming up until 40 ish mph, heavier rollers will help.

on the help front, a lot of the younger lads don't know large four stroke scooters, their expertize is with the smaller two strokes, better to have no help, than the wrong help. :)

Thanks for reply guns, iv had the 125 4 stroke version for 4 years. All i ever did with that is the malossi variator and the pm61 pipe. With this 200 its running off my 125 cdi and after searching some posts on here it would be healthier to get a gear up kit to stop the engines bearings going and the engine blowing up as the 125 and 200 cdi is different in rev range. I dont mind spending the money on the variator clutch and gear up if it will be worth the money, or if i should just leave it as it is (running 125 cdi, pm61,standard transmission). I was just thinking someone would have played with the 200 before...
