Hi guys I've converted my 2008 sr 50 to a 172. However I seem to be having a few problems getting It to run properly. The sr uses a 6 pin plug in connection from the stator. I've wired it up myself and I have a spark and my lights and voltage run, so all good in that respect. Despite this so far I've only managed to the engine running in reverse. It runs ok and pulls like it should, only backwards :/ I have customised the stator plate to advance/retard the timing, and I've had it running with both a 52mm and 54mm crank with a spacer. I'm not sure where to go next as I've tinkered with it so much it doesn't want to run forward. My Only other thoughts could be that it won't run on a 50 regulator and won't run with the 50 coil. Can anyone suggest or help on where to go next ?
