Hey guys, new guy from America and wanted to share my build. Hope that I'm putting it in the right place? Anyway, started of with this beat up Zuma Then I fixed it up a little and it looked like this I quickly got bored of it and tore it apart with the intentions of making it look like a track bike, but then I broke my foot at work and so it sat in my kitchen for a year in a pile of parts I still haven't gone back to work, but every year I get profit sharing check from work and so I bought a few parts. I tore it down to the frame and started putting it back together a few parts at a time Frame Motor Motor and frame Frame braces and radiators MHR overrange w/ Polini 2G One-off Keihin PWK R7D radial rotor Wheels Custom bar stem Trimming and shaping to get the belly pan over the radiator hoses Brembo RCS 14 masters with shorty levers Belly pan and front panels fit around the radiators and hoses. Now they will all be coming off, fixed and painted. While I'm doing all the body work the motor is being sent off to Canada to get a special water pump (kart) installed. The pump is because I'm switching to a Bidalot ignitions, which has no power. That's it for now. I'll keep updating this thread if people are interested. Thanks for looking guys.
FRIGGIN' AWESOME, really nice build so far. I'll be interested to see how clean the panels fit around everything on the finished article.
Thank you! I'm actually going to be reshaping the rear body panels and then doing them in carbon fiber once I get the shape I want. Well, maybe, because right now I have a Yamaha Jog RR on the way over here from England and if I can get it through customs, EPA and the DOT, then all these parts will be going on to that frame. But we have really strict laws here about imports, so I'm not holding my breath. Anyway, the build continues...
nice build! keep it up! you should run an AC motor and instead of a water pump make it run a blower.... you know, because why not?
It's been a while guys, but I got some more done on it and she's finally running Where I left off with the new water pump... Added an additional 2 HP with a decal Did the rear wheel a little different Motor and wheel reattached to the frame Adapted a Booster belly pan fairing A little paint Got a few video's as well, but gonna hit the post button so I don't screw something up and have to do the whole post again.
Got it downstairs with the help of my buddy Scott Started it up but couldn't run it around yet because still had no brakes.
Got some brake lines Screwed up with the lame orange paint But fixed it and got this pic after I'd run it :/
My buddy Scott pulling a few wheelies shortly after breaking her in She's sorta tore back down now so that I can do up all the electrical. Still waiting on all my LED bulbs and X-Grip mounts for all the gauges, which won't start showing up until after Monday. To be continued...
that is screaming for some offroad tyres for trail riding shinannigans.... whats left to do? i really like how this has turned out!
That's funny that you mention the off-road thing because years ago I saw a BWS 100 that I really liked and at the time I wanted to make one very similar. In the end though I fell in love with the Yamaha Jog RR that a lot of Spaniards use to race and ended up trying to emulate those. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to get one of the Jog's into the USA right now, but it's proving to be very expensive and I've had to put it on hold for a bit. Anyway, here is the BWS 100 that I fell in love with a long time ago:
What do I have left? Gotta cut down the rack and have the ends welded Gotta make guards for the sides of the radiators Redo the front wheel to match my rear wheel, because the the black rim makes the tire look like it has a really tall sidewall, which is disturbing to me :/ Figure out where on the pipe to mount the EGT probe. After that, just have fun
It's been a while, but here's a few videos in case anyone is interested. More videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCb5LlhGggqOU83l5Cz6j64A
