    All,

I recently acquired a 2005 DiBlasi R7E and could use your help and understanding.

Short story, I need to replace the head gasket. I have torqued it to spec, which according to the manual is 10nm.

After each heat cycle (riding about 1 mile), letting cool, the nuts need to be re-torqued. I have done 3 heat cycles. Each resulting in a re-torque.

The studs are M7 and there flat washers with nuts.

The studs are not moving, the nuts are not backing off either, but I suspect the studs or the lower casting where the studs attached, are stretching?

    Anyone experience this issue?

Torque it, check it twice, forget about it.
If you keep going at it you'll strip the bolts or nuts out

I thought so as well. I am concerned they will continue to loosen and then blow a head gasket. Happened once already. :(

Head gaskets aren’t a major concern on air cooled engines, much less single cylinder ones
