is there anything on a neos 50 that is worth tunning does 41mph tops accels ok hits 27 then takes off, does seem to sound like its whistling (or slight metalic rubbing noise) when u acc but mainly when u keep a constant speed only done 6700miles? could it be the clutch?
have been told it may be piston slap but would that cause the noise at full throttle the whistle is continuous?
is it easy to fit main bearings as have never done that? or is there a member in the wigan/ or northwest area that would be willing to get their hands dirty for a little cash?
took casing off n the clutch bell was very blue a bit like the flame exaust brand so could def be the clutch.
im so glad someone elce has a neos on here finaly lol,, could your belt be slipping? if u have a performance exhaust it could be your baffles rattleing ... hmmm... i have leovince tt exhasut it makes a rattleing noise sometime, take basffles out soon, i havent changed the rollers or clutchsprings yet as its being a biach and the bolts wont budge ,as i said in another thread ,i get 40-45mph on flat , mine hits powerband at 30 ,good for overtaking but bad for going up hills unless your doing 30 :L , got some 4.3gram rollers to go in
just got sum cheap ass deres that was on it when i bought it just orderd new rollers, main spring may order the clutch if it dosent solve it
yh i just tock it to a garage round the corner they tock em off and put em back on for nout, but i gave em 2 quid towards there tea fund as it saved me 20 quid
the clutch bell is completly blue in the center so going to have 2 replace the clutch,so will do the rollers at same time. that bloody whining is gettn worse when at throttle n load. doesn't do it when on stand n the noise doesn't change pitch, thats y i thought it may b the clutch?
blued centre of clutch bell indicates that you have a problem in your gearbox or a bearing on your clutch shaft is shafted. i would immagine that ammount of heat will have fucked your gearbox seals and probably taken gearbox bearings with it.
had a look how to replace bearings on ears seems easy enough so will open it up n have a look, check gears and see if anythings damaged :beg:
 took drain plug out of transmission and was covered in oil hock: but cant get the clutch off without clutch removal tool any suggestions same prob with variator
take it to a garage and ask them nicely if u give em a couple of quid if thell take the nuts off with a buzz gun , i know capri dave will advise against this but its alot cheaper and easyer than buying a torque wrench
i got a gun for £23 but needed a bigger socket for the clutch does anyone know how big the nut is that holds the spring behind the clutch plates im guessn 37mm
fitted racing clutch blue springs (v hard) and torque spring medium stiff+6g rollers, now engine sounds like a steam engine-chug,chug on accel then sounds normal then again any ideas on best set up 2 avoid this wrong cllutch n torque set up?
my clutch just had the nut on the front then it all comes off, then just put the big nut in a vice and twist it open whilst holding down as there is a huge spring in there
repalced gearbox bearings, still makes same whistling noise? but now it does it as soon as you set off, if i have to replace the top end and crank bearings how do i set up the piston squish?
what kind of top end have you got ? if its std, then its not really neccesary to set the squish up, its only really when you start fitting non std stuff you have to worry...
this whstles alot n only when under throttle, used to be only when moving but now does it a little when revving
