    Hi everyone,

I'm going to have a look at an aerox tomorrow, as the title says it's an 01 with 20k miles. It has a Doppler exhaust, 17.5mm carb, polini reeds and a new piston. It also has a new inlet manifold and a brand new pmtuning clutch.

What should I look out for? I know the guy selling it, and he always warms it up etc. If I do get it I'm gonna do all the top end gaskets, water pump repair kit (to be safe) and new belt and rollers. Is there anything else you lot would suggest?

    Thanks

Clean out the cylinder and get the new piston in it. New variator, and clutch springs, and run her on Super Unleaded with Castrol Racing 2T. She'll be as clean as a whistle for as long as you keep 'er if you do that! ;)

    look at the price?... :)

It is the standard engine?.. well other than general stuff (leaks, dodgy engine noises, brakes and tyres) there isnt much you need to look at if it is a correct price. 2 Strokes engines are quite simple and to be fair.

If you know the guy anyway it shouldnt be an issue no?

Thanks for the tips gus, luckily its had the new clutch with springs and a recent piston. Do you rate the Top Racing variator as a budget option or should i avoid it?

I might take the head off to look at the bore just incase.

Its the standard minerali lc engine, with the stated mods.

How much would you pay for the bike as it is, with spare wheels, tyres, 2 spare exhaust (leo ZX and standard) and a few bits and bobs?
