Got this as a cheap fixer uppery thing.
£45 and a xbox 360 (pile of shite) sealed the deal, pushed the scooter around the corner from the "sellers" house and somehow got it into my brothers ford focus. Got it home and started to tinker.

At first I was just going to get it running and riding/on the road as a commuter but I ran into a few problems there. I need to get the V5 to tax it, seller only had the green slip and ive lost it
so now waiting for the DVLA to send me the V5 so I can tax it in my name. Its already MOTd until October so im ok until then for MOT.
got the rear panels off to start mucking about.

    Fuel - check.
    Spark - Fuck no.
    Compression - HA FUCK NO - 20PSI
so new plans for it. top end rebuild at mininums, new coil, CDI and regulator, New spark plug, New fuel pump, Carb clean, Manual choke, New battery, New brake pads and shoes, Paint the wheels forks and transmission cover, fit a different kickstart lever, A bloody good clean (got ridden down the canal I think) because its filthy.. rear rack and a large top box......
then once its running and on the road ill start playing tuning wise.. going to get a big pack of rollers and try 4.5g, 5g, 5.5g, Kevlar belt and clutch, see if I can find a decent variator kit for it at some point... june/july time 70kit, bigger carb and exhaust hopefully. paint is staying as it is other than doing the wheels forks etc..
going for a bit of a "sleeper" build here hence the top box want people to think haha its slow then think WTF when I outrun them at the lights
its got a name as is tradition. not a girl though. his name is blue. 50p to whoever guesses why.

engine back in scooter with everything being wired up and plumbed in

I had the scoot goin for about 5 minutes went inside to make a cuppa come out and scoot was gone with gate wide open luckily scoot was found just up the road in pub car park for some reason despit havin keys they decided to fuck up the ignition barrel and now I cant get it to run so £50 for a new ignition barrel cdi is missing so another £15 there and regulator/rectifier is missing another £10-£15 there

just seen that it didnt have a gasket, some scoots dont have a headgasket, piaggio for instance dont. that rear wheel is odd, its like an old vespa wheel! why did you take the motor out to do the top end anyway? thats just more work than is needed!

To get to the top end u have to take the shroud off and to get that off the frame itself gets in the way so the engine has to come out for the top end to be done
it didn't have gasket before because the twat that owned it before me decided not to put one in when he did a top end on it
ive done top end on one before and the only way to solve the whole having to take engine out to do top end issue is to cut a 4mmx4mm piece off of the frame which ill do before I hammerite the whole frame
I like the wheel but don't think its standard fitment  ive seen a few of these now and they've all had one piece wheels unless its a popular mod to do o_O

clean the carb out with some carb cleaner (you only need to take the float bowl off) and also, take the spark plug out and give it a good few kick over with no plug and wide open throttle, that will clear out all the old fuel, cobwebs and any other shit from the motor :)

first take the carb off, as a rule its as follows:
    remove airbox
    remove fuel feed line
    remove throttle cable linkage stuff
    unbolt carb....
after that you take the float bowl off the carb and give it all a good spray with carb cleaner...

Hi Torpedo01, I know its been a while since you posted this, but perhaps you can help. My son has the same scooter, the above highlighted pipe is missing, with just a stub on the carb. Can you tell me where the other end attaches to? He is having really poor starting and running, and I'm wondering if this has something to do with it.

    Thanks,

    Richierich
