    Hi all,

I am aware that running a straight pipe with no expansion chamber isn't ideal due to the fact that the exhaust pushes some of the intake charge back into the exhaust that would have escaped from the cylinder as the exhaust gasses exit.

My engine will be at max RPMs all the time - single 25 second bursts at full throttle, could I just richen up the mix slightly to get over the loss of fuel? Ie:

Normal mix + pipe = lean mix + lost fuel
Richer mix + pipe = correct mix + lost fuel

I will lose fuel, but it doesn't matter about how much fuel is used or if its wasted, just wondering if its worth just going for a straight pipe to give the best gas flow out the engine vs a tuned pipe (also cost!)

You should never run a 2 stroke with an exhaust without an expansion chamber. You seem to want power and one of the biggest parts in terms of power on a 2 stroke is the exhaust and it's match to the cylinder.
