So the DR evo 70 turned up in the post today. 2 questions about it that are rather n00b, as you know it is a 2 ring kit, 1 ring is a solid piece of metal and 1 is sort of a metal band with a carbon/graphite kinda thicker band on the inside of it. if you are still following what im saying, which ring is the top and which is for the bottom of the piston? it is not in the instructions. second question the instructions say to torque the head 1÷1,2 kgm. now im wondering what the heck that is in newtons, if my calculations are correct (which they probabaly arent) It is asking for 7.8nm or if my other calculation is correct 9.8 to 11.7nm just somthing im curious of but i wont be fitting the kit until after christmas any way
1 Kgm = 9.804 NM so your second set of numbers is correct. Rings, don`t know without looking but normally if they are different the top one is normally chrome and the bottom one is plain. Have you tried fitting them? you might find that the top one has a trapesoidal section (sometimes called keystone) and the bottom one is plain so they will only go in one way.
