hi people im soon going to be buying a scooter 125cc and wondered what u guys would recomend i likle the gilera runner's also typhoon's but i want good reliability aswell im into tuned scooter's to be honest i would love a 172cc runner or other make anyway let me no ur idea's etc thanks.joe
what are they like mate alright?? i wana quick one but also still not gonna blow up every whatever miles lol i like the sr's but im not sure
to be honest ive not had mine long enough to say about reliability/long lasting engine etc, it pulls like a train up to about 70mph, sounds just like a gilera runner, same engine as a typh, handles really nicely, i had a speedfight 100 before the sr and allthough it was pretty quick it felt like a kids toy in comparison
yh i mean once ive got the money im going to see whats available at the time wudnt mind an sr or runner tho
get a aprillia rs125 or a Honda nsr 125 or do you full bike license. Which you can take at 17 and the Yamaha yzf 125 or the Honda cbr 125.
you carnt do your full bike licence at 17? lol. As for good reliability a 172 is really not the way to go, if you wont a really reliable bike get yourself a gilera runner 125 vx 4stroke. if you wont a bike for tunning gilera runner 125 sp 2stoke. but either way i would say get a runner :good:
Well u can do your full restricted licence limiting you to 33bhp til you are 21 (I think). But like everyone with a cbt it don't stop people breaking the law...(I do have a full licence thru DAS, but still a 50cc lol)
im gonna either get a runner or an sr but really want some good acceleration so i can get off the lights quick and maybe on the back wheel lol was the reliability problems with the 172's then mate???
get an sr or a typh aircooled is the way forward imo.. and if you look after it properly (172) and its done correctly then you should have no problems
Whats all this bullshit about 172's not being reliable?? This is coming from people who've never owned a 172... They ARE reliable if you know what your doing.. Ive ridden with plenty of 172's, ported to the bollocks, and they've managed to ride 100miles+ non-stop with zero problems. RS125's are good bikes but extreamly high maintenance, not reccomended for everyday A to B use, but they will do the job providing everything is kept in order. And no, they dont blow up on a weekly basis. Engine rebuilds on these are every 15,000kms, the SAME as a 125 2T piaggio/Gilera.
Nothing is 100% reliable but if things are done properly reliability is not a big issue when it comes to tuning. The biggest and most common problems are from things not being done properly due to lack of knowledge and experience (mostly DIY). Do it properly the first time, it may cost more straight off but long term it's a lot cheaper.
http://nottingham.gumtree.com/nottingham/62/67092262.html that looks to be in quite good condition. and decent price.
