if you can give the battery a good charge and/or rev the bike a bit and everything stays stable then you should be ok.for a pass,no lights should dim when other lights are on.as for the hi/ low...if the high beam and idiot light comes on when its in low beam switch position then swap like scootz says..it ain't hard to fathom it out.trace the two wires from rhe main bulb to the point where you find two connectors on one wire( hi beam) and one in the other..(lo beam) then switch the two wires round making sure you go back far enough to find hi beam wire cos sometimes they can be a bit back in the loom.

That's my only issue I'll post a picture of the wires I have to work with they have been completely hacked at over the years and don't think there's an original wire left in the head light loom lol and a buying a new headlight loom is as likely as steping on rocking horse s#*t lol

I have 3 tabs and only 1 wire left and I've checked at the connector and there is only 5 wires how can that be even possible to have more spade connectors than wires sorry if these are stupid questions I most the time learn the most from my stupid questions lol

you should have: positive to dipped, positive to mian and positive to sidelight, then 1 negative for the whole lot

Ahhh now it's making a bit of sense lol so I'm guessing the black is negative that's why it does something on all the tabs that's what was confusing me the fact that the one wire seemed to have a function on all spade connectors ( blonde moment from me lol)

Next question is anyone know of a breakers with one of these bikes in around west midlands or has anybody got a bulb clip that will fit lying around as I've broken the wire off right inside the bulb holder (silly me) got until Friday for my retest

Well with a nice bit of wireing like that..ide buy a few good connectors and a new holder(need one)..then if youve sorted which wire is high beam and low its gonna be so much better putting it back.it looks like standard holder so I can't see a bother getting a new one from a car/bike shop
