had nothing to do was was looking at scooter bits on ebay (as you do) theres a seller on there selling a dna 180 variator claiming it can be fitted to a 125 and its basicly the same as fitting a race variator, is this true????? if it works its alot cheaper than buying a £100+ kit

when you convert a 125 to a 172, it is a cheaper option to buy a 180 variator and 180 primary gears, used obviously, but as for panning out as a sports variator for a non-cylinder change, don't know.

thanks for that, went to a scooter shop near me and had a chat to him today, he says it would do nothing fitting the 180, if you want a race variator get a race variator, so i thort he was going to try and flog me 1 but no he said he could try to but there not realy worth they money on 4 strokes £100+ is alot to pay for 10mph if im lucky, so not going to bother just going to fine tune the weights to get it to pull away quicker.

Been said many times before there is no such thing as cheap tuning on a 4 stroke. No way in hell a variator is adding 10mph as well.

If your bike is stock then messing about with the rollers wont improve anything. The best weight is the stock weight.
