Greetings, due to a previous numptys spanner hands i am now about to start rebuilding my runner 180 engine. Basically i need a new crank, head, cylinder & piston..i already have a pm 59 exhaust, malossi variator and clutch and i'm looking for the best set up without compromising reliability...can anyone help please.. i'm looking for fast/midrange getaways while not compromising top speed any suggestions please cheers
BGM 52mm stroke crank, Malossi 172 kit? There isn't really much other options? Or have I got it totally wrong and you are actually asking something else?
Thanks for that Nah that cool, just what I needed...don't quite understand this 172cc business??..so this would be an advantage over the 180cc unit...also I have a stock carb at the moment and airbox..will this need to updated too?? Cheers
172 kit is the big bore kit for 125's. It's a sport part so it makes more power than a 180 kit even though it's a smaller cc. It doesn't make a huge amount more power which is why if you have a 180 with a perfectly good cylinder then no one bothers to change to a 172. You can run it on a standard carb and airbox. It would have more power with say a 25mm carb but it would use more fuel.
