180 gears even slower

    basically my setup was
    172 kit
    180 variator
    standard rollers
    125 gearing

    accel wasent too bad.. got to 80 clock speed well quick smetimes 85

    now changed it to
    172 kit
    125 variator
    12.5 gram rollers
    180 gearing

    the bike now revs more. isnt really any quicker but now im struggling to 75 clock speed

    whats going on

    it will rev higher because of the lighter rollers, and it probably wont reach top end now youve upgeared it.. need more power

    125 gears will go back in when i get back off holiday

    i am quite sure i should put the 180 variator in though but get some 13 gram rollers for it instead

    how does that sound :pimp:

    the 180 has slightly less power than a 172 and uses the same carb as the 125 so it must be a transmission issue stopping you attaning top speed. just a case of going through one by one untill you figure the problem.

    yer i guess.. i actually wasent really bothered with the top speed before.

    i just wanted to be able to cruise better on runs but i can at 65-70 anyway so i may just use the standard gearing

    im pretty sure 1 part of the gears are the same on the 125 and the 180.

    so can i swap the bit thats different over so it means i dont have to take the wheel off etc i just change the little cog thats different to have it back to 125 gearing

    the gears comprise of 2 gear pairs.. one of these gear pairs are diff for the 180 but 1 of each pair is pressed together so you have to use all 4 gears of whatever type or repress the diff gear onto the ley shaft...

    put basicly you cant half and half them without re pressing so if you want the 125 gears back you gotta fit all 4 gears.. id leave the 180's and figure the prob tho m8. should be faster top end with 180 gears regardless.. its a 172 afterall

    yer well it struggles to 80 and before i was hitting the limiter of 85 clock speed with ease

    been out with crazy james today and his bike thrashed mine so i dont know

    so what setup do you reckon minor

    got a 125 variator here, 180 one, 125 gears 180 gears.

    i got 12.5 gram rollers and 13.5 for the 125 varo but only standard for 180 varo

    need to get a new belt for what varo i am going to use as i dont know what mine is and its fraying already :w00t:

    i dont know whether to go with cjs setup

    172 kit
    125 gears
    125 variator
    12.5 gram rollers
    polini donkey dick air filter

    it really does fly

    all i cna say is.... :wtf: when i stuck lighter rollers in my bike... with that same set up it was shit.... but i had 25m carb and scorpion... and i tryed 12.5 and 13.75 and both was shit pull of.. when it kicked in yeh it was rapid...
