alright guys im getting a standard 125, putting a 25mm carb and a 172 kit on it! so faily basic but made for acceleration! how hard will this be to keep it maintained like, from blowing up? its going to be used daily to travel, obv i wont be flat out because then it will blow lol but how long should it last with me riding at 60 ?
it wont blow up unless something bad happens like oil pump goes, or oil pump belt.. i used to use mine for like 35 miles a day, its the same as a 50 except its probably more reliable because u aint gotta full throttle it everywhere to get any decent speed out of it.. basically, imagine you had a 70 kit and 21mm carb on youre sr and you cruised it round at 40-45 every day.. same kinda thing ive done misssssions on mine, pretty much full throttle the whole way with no airfilter ( like southend for example) lol but dont go doing that.. i was probably lucky it didnt blow
like ride said it should be fine, a carb and cylinder kit are far from the high tune reliblity issue area, saying that if you plan to do it on youre sr, the witring is the simplest of task, so if your not a dab hand at it, let some who knows what they are doing do it or at least show you how :good:
well ive gotta 172 25ml pm59 and malossi reedblock and never broke down "touch wood" my bike has always got me home, as above just keep an eye on how much oil the pump and the belt and your ok, also a piston now and then helps, took ym kit off the other day and after 2 years and a couple of pistons its still got the cross hatchign from new with no marks and i rag the life outta my bike literally 1 wheel or full throttle EVERYWHERE
okk then it sounds good! i might be taking my a2 ristricted bike licence like on my birthday so i can ride a 172 and be lergit! 33bhp, my dad wants me to get a ktm 690 and get it restriced so ill just have to see but i think ill get a 172 when i first pass then earn some cash then go for a ktm! jj are you going to scooter sunday at ace? or you just going brimsdown! im going to go brimsdown then ace after! any way thanks guys but whats your thinks on a2 restriced bike licence? it lets me ride with no l plates, that pasengers, 33bhp in the 2 years then when 19 can rideany thing, ride on motorways!?
I'm 16 at the min! But 17 in March! Just find bikes more fun! I can drive a car but its boring so cba to do driving test! I realy don't no what bike I will get tho ! Would love a Ktm but pricey! So might start on 180 or something then earn some cassh then get big boy bike!

Ya bike test is well worth doing it if you can at 17, I did. I was on a 180 for 2 years then bought a 600 CBR after my restriction was up, insurance was 500 tpft, when I was 20 it was 126tpft. Got a Ducati this year (21) and insurance for both bikes is now 500 tpft but will drop in March. You'll enjoy big bikes alot, keep ya scooter too if you can, you'll only want another one again. I was riding my 600 at 19, then my mate decided he wants one but did his test and had to wait till he was 21, he was gutted, didn't know he could do it at 17.
