Right got a runner 172, with the following: 180 clutch/variator/gears 13.5g rollers PM59 Boost bottle 25mm Carb Now i went through one 172 kit as my mate forgot to add oil with the petrol but now fitted another one, and made sure there was oil mixed, was running for a good week, but yesterday stoped, and went turning the electric start, sound like theres nothing (compression) Now what would off caused this? Too much fuel?? causing to dry of a burn?
was running 102 jet. as for a air leak - what and where?? and as for fitting wrong, i dnt think it was thats as its striaght forward. boost bottle - like the look really! and dont think it was that! any suggestions????
check the BLACK pipes going in and out of the engine/carb... id be looking close at the boost bottle fitment.. check round the manifold..
well the way i connected the boost bottle was directly into the inlet. so do u rekcon it might have been over fueling? i now getting another 172 kit 2day, and now gonne fit the gold bullet head thing alone with blue springs. (might as well as the engine is gonna be out) what jet do u think i should run? (102 in at moment) and as for the both the 172 kits, i still have both of them along with the 180 head and piston which i took off the engine. if u wanna buy them then pm me mate!
you hooked it up directly to what inlet? meaning the fuel tap or the pump ISNT connected.. so take your boost bottle off.. put the pipe that SHOULD be there back on an try again
lol i never took the pipe which is on the inlet off and connect the boost bottle there. i drill a hole in the inlet (RUBBER THING) and used the piece provided in the kit to put into the hole and then into the bottle. like how the inlets r shown on this web page! http://boostbottleindustries.com/Information_Page.html
ok, well its probably leeking air from there.. or the fuel pump has packed in.. is thew little tank full of fuel?
Yes thats full mate! umm well i'm taking the engine out 2mor, will post pics of the progess! so you think its a air leak! well i'll check the pipes and see from there!
lol that website reckons "Adding a boost bottle will add 8-10 HP at the bottom end of your power band" :w00t:
