Looking for a 172 project (start out as 50) which are easiest? i.e. The engine bolts straight in? I am able to rebuild engines etc but dont wanna be welding mounts etc on..

Change of mind since not many bolt straight in and if they do its unsafe. Gonna do a zip or runner with a runner or sr engine in and get the mounts welded

    best way jordan ,

maybe look at a zip 100cc and sticking a 125cc bore kit or popping a 180 motor in and creating some meaty engine hanger points

be a push , depends on the motor price and if it needs work.

ideally you would want , motor - loom - cdi - coil , if you can get them all in one lump say a motor package , thats the bulk money pit.
then its pipe - carb - intake - filter those can be a hitter.

super ideally sucker a 125 lump shove that in , atleast you can run around with that. save a bit more then 172 bore kit , carb , fettle the intake a bit , stick a foamie dual skin filter on. thats a bit more easy than a straight 180 motor buy and fettling it. just shakey a 125 up with a bore kit and some tinkering. if the 172 kit lets go you always have a 125 jug sitting around you can re-use just shove new rings on piston shove a new little end beraing in an you off again

Ye i think i was gonna go this route pal, one more question, does it matter if the bike i do it to is 4 stroke, ie a runner 125 2t engine in a 4t zip 50?

I have a zip frame with a runner 172 rolling nut engine! Got the runner forks also with bar conversion. I started it as a project but don't have the money, time and lack the skill. The engine is a 2t ac so don't have to mess around with radiatior, the engines all mounted in with the the loom also. I have some photos of you are interested sounds just right for you
