minor fitted my 172 kit today.

very happy with it but i have got standard rollers so im missing my powerband well thats what the pro said anyway

currently running it in done about 30 miles so far. be giving it a few little blasts. seems ok but it took 5 seconds to get to 30 so i am really hoping the rollers will sort it

the takeoff is unreal. when i went to my grandads i had to stop and a zebra crossing. after i let the throttle rip and the front end came up

i dont do wheelies but i was well surpised.

seems to be running ok. have had 70 out of it but havent been full throttling at all the higher speed i go.

seems like the bike has loads more pull when the revs get higher near top speed.

hope i helped you abit minor :pimp: will carry on running it in. have been riding then letting it cool down etc the 30 miles has been in a couple of trips.

hope the rollers sort the problem and it runs fine :pimp:

    cheers bud

its so good when waiting for a gap just blip the throttle and you beat any car

running a little slower then i would have thought hopefully the rollers will sort this

you cant expect anything amazing tho after all it is only a 172 kit and it cnat be pushed to its full ability on its own if it hasent got the other parts to back it....you will see the more you buy e.g vari, carb, springs etc u will see a massive improvement on the speed trust me...jus a matter of them very few magic parts lol...

What sort of milage have you got on the kit now? wouldn't be openin it right upuntil at least 300 miles.

yer will be changing a few things in time. it has a 180 variator but i need some lighter rollers.. then ill get a 25mm carb with burger filter when i get back off holiday

currently ive done 50. have give it abit of throttle every now and again. you can feel it running better all the time though. have got it to 70 but that was like half throttle

nicosil lined ali barrels done ever "wear in" just the piston rings need to cut to the same shape as the lining. even malossi recomend 30 mins run in at idle.

its a race part, meaning its ready to rag out the box. i have done every barrel the way minor sudgested and have never had a problem, there has been less carbon deposit inside the exhaust port, absoloutly no buildup on the side of the piston ether.

bare in mind real 2 stroke mechanics sudgest ragging a new barrel just not for long periods foir the first few hundread miles.

psn build engines and throw them straight on the dyno.

std run in procedure is a failsafe. you should run in most parts but race barrels need NO running in, meerly a couple of hot cold runs. crosser/gp mechanics have done it this way for more than 60 years and im not going to argue as ive tryd bnoth ways and running in gentally cakes your engine with burnt oil and shit. you HAVE to rag a 2t as it keeps the nengine clean.

Yep, when im running in a new kart engine, after two 20min sessions

it's ready to be ragged, all this 300 mile run in stuff you hear is utter bollocks.

172 is much better then 125 init ;)

but yea 2t's are known revvy engines & need 2 be ragged to get full potential & burn all the shit around the ports away!
