rite im splitting my old engine (125) as the cassings are cracked and i want to build another but im a little confused. i have a 180 engine sitting here that i can split and use as well. the question is how much slower will my bike be as the 180 cassings are lower on compression than in the 125 cassings? i have the folowing parts to be used and if they can be used: 172 ported malossi crank polini oversive reed block polini inlet 26mm carb malossi vari will get a new belt, rollers and clutch springs. also have the choice of 125 or 180 or malossi gearing. and i got a pm55 will all of this be able to go on the 180 cassings? even the crank? and how much less power would this be than in 125 cassings?
yes all will fit, dont see it making that much of a difference ive seen tuned 180cc piss over tuned 125cc bikes, deffo go for the 180cc gears tho mate, will accelerate nicly and do about just over 80mph
ok.. for future referance you dont need to make 2 posts askin the same thing a diff way.. the 180 CAN BE FILLED with chemical metal to bring the compression back up.. the 125 case in flowd form has lower compression than the 180 just with a beter shape.. the case isnt bad or anything, just the best results are seen with a ground 125 case as theres no need for filling (plenty meat behind the case)
