hi every1 i have just fitted a 28mm dellorto to my runner 172, so far atomiser is 268, slide 40 needle d24, and idle is 40 i have tryed 102 jet 108 112 and 120, all seem to run ok at 1/4 throttle but die as soon as i snap the throttle back, the 120 runs ok to 1/4 throttle then when i snap throttle back it seems to jolt and bog for a second or 2 then will start to pull but seems like its very heavy and deep reving when it pulls. any idea what way i should be going with the jet evern higher than 120 or lower that 102 ? i was running the standard 20.5 with open filter and scorp exhaust with a 98 jet and that run fine.
Re: 172 28mm dell bogging please help idle jet is too small hence your little "bog" when you snap the throttle back.. put in a 50 or so and ajust the mix screw from there.. where is the needle clip? id be guessing somwhere in the middle? if so drop it to the lowest position (clip at the blunt end of the needle) and ajust the main jet after. if it is slightly better at a fraction less than full throttle it is rich, ajust from knowingly rich down to just below when this happens. if that makes sence... its all in the carb guides fella, if you cant work it out from there get it on a dayno or to someone who knows what there doing as its cheap enough and saves alot of headscratching
Re: 172 28mm dell bogging please help ok thanks a bunch minor, if u sit the needle faceing down how it would sit in the carb my needle is on the second slot from the top do i move it up so the needle sits lower or move it down so it lifts the needle, allso just orderd a 50 idle.
Re: 172 28mm dell bogging please help the clip at the verry top, the blunt end.. it go's in the normal way (pointy end down into the carb) and will sit at the lowest position with the clip at the highest opint, look at it, it should make sence
