    hello...
    a question on tests now.

I was looking at licences which would allow me to ride scooters that are over 125 cc eg. all the ones listed in the topic header...

this is off a website i was reading...
"A1 Test for a Light Motorcycle Licence. Pass this on a bike between 75cc and 125cc and you can ride any bike up to 125cc and 11kW (14.6bhp) and carry a passenger."

so passing that lets you :-

never have to do CBT again, ride bikes UP TO 125 cc and carry pillions...

on a full a2 licence it says...
"Category A Test for the Standard Motorcycle Licence. To take this test you’ll need a bike between 121cc and 125cc and capable of 100kph (CG125 anyone?) for the test, and once you pass this you’ll be restricted to a motorcycle of up to 25kW (33bhp)"

i thought you had to have a 121 - 125 GEARED motorbike to do this test? am i right?

or could i do that on a 125 cc gilera runner...pass it and that allows me to ride any scooter i like?

sorry about how long winded it is

    Cheers.

you will need to complete the test on a geared bike mate, well i did anyway.

then you can ride whatever you want , even a R1 if its 33bhp restricted

If you do the full A2 test on an auto, and pass youll be able to ride an auto of ANY cc size, but restricted to 33bhp for 2 years.

All above is correct BUT it will be totally worth doing your geared bike test A2, allowing you to ride geared and auto up to 33bhp for 2 years then unrestricted after.

It will save you having to pay out again for the test should you want to have a geared bike when after. CG125s are easy to ride anyway, do that ;)
