    hi, basically my freind has one, and recently after driving for abit it just conks out , comepletely clutch disengages and everything,, he had a look at the transmission and apart from a few teeth missin of the front pulley it seems fine, although the variator shaft does have some play, like you can push it in and out about 3 mil. and the clutch assembley moves up and down slightly, also when running there seems to be a rubbing noise coming from the transmission...

    anyone know what it could be??

    the play in the crank is normal.

    i think the more worrying thing is the clutch is moving up and down. thats what the rubbing is

    running problem, is it from any speed, if the bike is going slow then the force of the clutch could conk it out as it doesnt take alot to stall a single 4 stroke

    also the ht cap sits on the plug so it may seem like its on but it may not be properly

    or a stiff valve :bird:

    jj you joker this happen with my runner sp the gears was dodgey and had a lot of clutch play swap it and the gears sized on the boy. if that any help

    na you dont know the boy he hasnt had much luck with peds what so ever he his more likely to stick with his rs 125 or sell both an do a 172 :bird: :bird:

    How do we check for a stiff valve?

    get a haynes manual. and strip off the head

    i would take it to a garage myself

    obviousely make sure the other things i put have been checked

    tbh i know nothing about the top end on a 4 stroke. well not to fix them anyway

    i could possibly do a top end on a 4 stroke. if i need to ill do my next one

    if im honest i cant be fucked lol atm,

    i cant be bothered to fit a 172 to the drag but i suppose i will have to lol :w00t:
