Am I right in thinking that if I bought a 125 (because it's cheap) but wanted the power of the 180 would I just need to change:

    Cylinder kit
    Variator..(any washers)
    Belt
    Gears

And I would need to get a receipt to send off to change cylinder size (I know there has been a thread on this) but doing it myself, I'd still need a receipt right?

    125 to180 cc

I have found that going up on the cc say 125 to 172-180 on the log book they (that is the D.V.L.A) are only interested if you go down on the cc this is due to the taxation class (the higher the cc the more you pay) so you should be fine IE no enginers reports or comfirmation should not be needed

if your goin up in cc dont think you need any proof only reason for proof for going down is the taxation class also i belive you may have to have the cases modded to take a 180 cylinder if there 125 cases

Did you change the engine though Speedy 172?
Was it to a piaggio engine?
or did you just put a kit on?

New engine means more work and poses different questions.
is the rear wheel still central, is the mounting safe, do all the electrics work?

If it was just a kit they prob wouldn't have needed more info.

But also going from 50 to a 125 you should need proof to show certain things such as 50ccs dont actually need a high and low beam.
125s and over do if i remember right. so you would need headlight unit changing or change the bulbs and positioning.

the 180 skirt can be machined down to fit a 125 case.. its the same as a polini 175 but obviously the polini has the smaller skirt already.
modding the casews of a 125 for a 180 is just a no no, why fuck a good case wiht some orible scallops
