Hi I have a problem with my barossa 125cc 4 stroke scooter it was bought as a project I have bought a magneto and c.d.i unit to get the spark also new plug ang fresh petrol. It finally started yesterday after a few kicks would tickover and I Rev it and cut out but also cut out when I didn't Rev after 20secs. So I took the carb off cleaned and now it won't start at all again any suggestions.
    Thanks

    check for air leaks Paul.

check the seal between carb and the engine ( the rubber can perish, become split and cause a leak ) . same goes for the carb to the airbox.
check the vacuum pump pipe. pop it off the vacuum fuel pump and the carb/manifold , block one end with finger and blow down other, if it leaks it needs replacing

Thanks I have a couple of manifolds should I try one of them but they are off a 50 cc 4stroke I will check the hole size ect before I try .The vacuum seems to work as when I take off the bowl it's always full of petrol I was thinking earths but spark seem good and it did start until I messed with carb I only cleaned jet and there were some stuff in there.

ok pop the carb off. undo the float bowl and check its all good ie the float is ok and not been kicked outta place ie not opening and closing of the fuel feed when its full/empty. normaly if the float gets stuck in the closed position the carb will empty the bowl when running then be dry ie 30c run then its dies out due to fuel bowl empty/low.

manifold nope do not change this as yet buddy, its a carb problem if you have pulled it apart and rebuilt it.

Ok I found a split in the pipe on the air suction which comes off the manifold to the cross connector I am going to replace that what do i check for on the float ??? Just make sure it's sat at the bottom and freely moving ect. Or should I try the new pipe first.

pipe first paul i would say that is the problem and once fixed should solve your problems ;)

best to fix pipe and see if any problem still exists, but i would say its the air leak in the vacuum lines that cause the non start syndrome that your seeing. only takes a small leak and the fuel pump starts to loose pressure and then stops pumping enough fuel at a rate the carb needs to keep topped up. in the end it gets so low engine stalls and carb then slowly refills only for the cycle to start over again.

Yeah it was definitely air intake problem I replaced the pipe didn't start so I checked bottom of manifold the rubber circle gassed was flat /worn and then I put the rubber seal gasket from the 50 manifold in and went to tighten up bolts and the bolts did not tighten so I put new threads in tightened all up an started.
Thank you so much for helping solve this
