So on 27th of August I crashed my MZ, there was 2 cars infront of me quite close together, & I was quite close behind also. The first car braked quite sharply to turn right, meaning the car I was behind braked too and I was too late, slammed my brakes on, back wheel locked up and I went flying into the back of a Renault Scenic, of which I'd like to say are built like brick shithouses, I'd rather have gone into a wall. The bike did some sort of front flip, bent the frame at the headstock, ripped the clocks off and bent the bars, I just flew off it into the back of the car and managed to break the hardest bone in my body... Tried to move my leg while on the road and it was asif it wasn't even attached by anything but the outer skin and hurt like hell...

I got rushed to hospital in an ambulance, then after being ballsed on Morphine and gas & air and trying to chat up the awfully nice paramedic ladies I found myself in a bed hooked up to a load of crap and thinking oh crap what now.

Had an X-ray done and well yeah my Femur was broke, 5 hours of surgery later it looked like this:

And then my knee from above:

Surprisingly, it instantly felt better after the operation, despite how much metal was now in my leg aswell as the 30 staples holding the wounds together, errr.
I was feeling a tad better, until my dad sent me this:

    Poor Betty..

About 6 days later I finally got home on crutches and started taking my bike apart.
I'll probably make a build thread but I currently have a new frame which I've had powder coated as-well as the swinging arm and exhaust, shiny.

Thanks for reading and watch out for Renault Scenic's, they hurt

oooh, all that metalwork, hope your ready for the aches and pains that come on with the weather changes.
I've found that I can predict when damp/colder weather is coming from my lot.:p

Just think, now that you have to replace the frame, you can do all those little jobs that you been meaning to do on it for ages now.

    Get well bud

Yeah I'm not looking forward to my entire right thigh literally being 'chilled to the bone' hahaha:p
And that's true, Polished all my switchgear and levers last night as-well as giving the engine a good polish, as-well as other stuff I've been meaning to do like getting the exhaust re-painted and a new hump back seat

This is where the MZ's at so far, need some new indicators, a seat and a few other small bits, including a rear wheel spacer cus I lost the damn thing on Saturday.
At the start of the day all it had was the front forks and swinging arm on, quite proud that I got to this stage in 1 day with my dodgy limp hahaha

Reminicient of lasts month's shopping list!,
Always put bolts, screws etc.straight back on if poss. or small vitamin jar and leave in plain sight/beside bike(nowhere else ;) ),
Wheel spacers fit very nicely on key rings (After! gunge removal) did it on mine / replacing front t+t. :) .

Alot of the bolts miraculously disappeared in the shed somewhere but I've replaced the majority with stainless, and I lost the wheel spacer just as I was putting the back wheel back in, as it had been on the shaft since the wheel had been out, the spacer is about 2 inches in length and an inch in diameter, don't know how I managed to lose it

Lately cause i've been working on the 'ped alot, been using old cadbury's roses tin an dumping everything in it!,
you can't find spacer cause your looking for where you might expect! it to be,
Do a grid search, like archaeoligists do /section entire area like graph paper an do a visual strip mine - then maybe
move 1 or 2 things after an Never, ever take anything outside of area unless you've checked 1st,
would'nt be surprised/self how many things have been lost/gone missing over the years cause i've haf a quick runaround-
clearup whilst throwing some rubbish that's accrued. :) ;) .

I tipped the whole shed upside down looking for it then gave up and ordered a new one, aswell as the tiny ball bearing that goes on the clutch actuator that I also lost
The thing I'm least looking forward to is that it keeps blowing fuses when it's running and won't rev, only bog, so I think I've got a connection wrong somewhere :(:(

    ?,
Break any wires in the accident ?,
overstretch any to the point of breaking inner core?,
or abrade any coverings to expose and cause short?,
not expert on electrics but thats what i'd start with.mk.

I took a bunch of pictures of where everything was plugged in before taking it all apart, the only wires that got broke were in the clocks, just gonna have to do a whole bunch of messing about with a box of fuses at hand :p

I so wish you the best of luck, truly o_O .,
Says the guy whose just spent God KNOWS! how long
painstakingly deconstructing an nos loom to remove the
entire 2 lengths of indicator wiring to superimpose on top
of an old loom that was working perfect bar rear indicators
then found out he'd probaly DID'NT!!!! need to................ .
