05 Vivacity headlight ?.

    Major biggie on MOT failures being lights,so having a check on all -
    is this sidelight in the headlamp a fake?,right hand 5w capless works fine.has jack at back...but left does'nt & can't tell if it's real or not due to colour (looks real),and is similiar/along the lines of lower indicator bulbs,but possibly better formed to look real.cheers.mk.

    I think it's a fake, Mark. You can get rubber holders to take the push-fit glass bulbs and you need to drill an 11mm hole in the back of the housing to make it a tight fit. Once it's fitted, just splice the live wire into the working one and the earth to the general lighting earth.

    I've done this on my TKR to add three-stage lighting (sidelight, dipped and main beam) and it works a treat.
