I would take the bike to a shop and get their advice because if it doesnt fit it will be a waste.
If it is really that slow i would check the rollers for wear. What state of tune is it?
I don't think it is the reeds. You would get popping backfiring when riding. I would replace the choke and the spark plug.

I would say that it is likely to be the choke that has failed rather than the reeds.
