I always carry a spark plug and a socket to change it, as have broken down before due to a spark plug.
Same as me :P .
Also if the crank has a lot of miles on it then it might be worth changing.
I had exactly the same problem, I have a standard airbox on. Turned out it was water in the HT cap and a knackered spark plug.
Try a new spark plug, they can cause a lot of problems. Where abouts are you? Someone might live near you and may be able to help you.
