If you have a kick starter it will work. Do a search of "battery eliminator" you just swap out the battery with a capacitor so you don't blow...

Nah it's fine. It's not so super important on a scooter. It's more important if the motor is rebuilt. Check the level again in a few days too......
Top tip for polishing alloy. Use cardboard as your "rub on cloth" Put some metal polish on card, then rub until the card goes soft, then buff it...
Hmmm... Check the ignition switch is plugged in. Also worth spraying some wd40 or whatever in both ign switch and kill switch
How did you get on with the carb. Normally there is a "carb access panel" under the seat on Piaggio scoots

Could be the "kill" from the CDI come loose? I'm pretty sure it grounds out the CDI to kill it, if that kill ground is loose, it won't shut off
Try holding the brake and doing it with a breaker bar...
Can you do any tricks on it?
Isn't there a thing about the indicators being part of the CDI and being a diagnostic thing?
