maybe dirt in carb,(float bowl and the bump excited the dirt thus pulling it and blocking the jets

hmmm...I wonder. I've been hearing that alot. And the smaller cc's can rev higher which would help with top end... Anyone know what mounts would...
so they say that the bigger cc engines arent keen on high revs....but under 13k should be fine for it if I replace all the bearings and port it...

yeah the rings were worn...so is it a case of new rings/piston and a rebore? What can be done about heat seizures?
