never gonna happen. it's more work putting the 4x4 work into the fl;oor/sispention that it would be to build a car from scratch. a metro uses subframes, this wont acomidate rear drive, meaning you have to fabricate a new subframe for an axel (shorter driveshafts) then somhow cut the floor away where this is ment to mount to just to clear the lot. the tunnel through the car would ether be intrusive or the engine would sit WAY too far forward... why not put it in a subaru justy? (suzuki swift, jap clone of a metro prittymuch) wich HAS a 4x4 floor and apropriate suspention fitment to accept the correct suspention type for the engine
basicly an old metro wiht a subaru engine is a fail.... it's never gonna happen, if it does then you sir would have spent LOTS of money making somthing that looks no better than a 1982 metro.. why not a 6r4 replica? bodykits come off the shelf and the work is the same prittymuch... but it fits. this wont..
i hate to piss on your fireworks.. but it's a good idea if your pissed down the pub wiht a few m8's... but an old metro you spent more than a grand building (will be close to 10 by the time this is done, if atall) your a fool as your STILL driving around a rusty old metro.
the whole car is going to be spaceframed and the floor rebuilt to allow for the 4x4 gearbox and different
and yea it's going to look like a bog standard metro as it will ba a street sleeper
i'm building it for fun and it's a slow wip it doesn't matter to me if it comes to £10.,00 it's the funny of building it from scratch and to prove dobters wrong
and at the end of it i can say i built it from scratch and didnt get a garage to build it for me
