yamaha salient tuning

hi guys and girls i have a 1984 yamaha salient using a ca50 engine which has issues e.g. a metal rattling noise when started and oil leaking out of exhaust so i think that my main bearings are going and the piston could probably do with being changed so im thinking of running a 70cc big bore kit to fit the bws 50 which i think should fit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....ory=25640&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_5844wt_932 and this is apparently what i have as standard http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Stand...cycle_Parts&hash=item2eba028637#ht_1669wt_698 they both say they fit the yamaha engines with the 10mm pin so hopefully it should work any advise would be helpful

I though the CA50 was using an horizontal engine... Is it the same as the BWS?...

i dunno its upright but exhaust connects the same way

i think youll have a hard time finding a big bore kit for a bike of that age imo without some sort of modification...

i think its the same size tbh gunna look tomorrow

I ll be really surprised if it is the same engine... could make an old ped a beast if it is the case!

ive had a quick look about with no luck tbh. its quite a rare bike and the fact that its 25 years old probs doesnt help. its not the end of the world though there are PLENTY of other ways you can get power from it

i stripped my bike down just a min ago and th exhaust mounting looks the same angle etc so ill look further tomorrow

The admission isnt on the cylinder like on the BWS from what I can see so it doesnt look like the same engine no?
