dose anyone know what front sprocket and back sprocket size to use on a aprilia rs50 to get more speed.. iv read up on it but now am confused iv read that a large rear sprocket and small front sprocket is good to use
but at the moments my aprilia rs50 has a 14 teeth on the front havnt counted the one on the back but its big

larger rear or smaller front will give more acceleration with a loss on top end. larger front and smaller rear will give more top speed but slow acceleration....to a point on a 50cc.

From what I've read its std is 12 and 47 which is approx 1:4 ratio. If you drop 1 on the front its almost same as adding 4 on the rear and vice versa.

If you go too much smaller on the rear the power of a 50CC will not be able to pull the extra load, it'll just bog in so theres not alot of point going for too much more on the top end. A good friend tried this years back on a Suzuki X1 moped and found all this out by trial and error.

plus.... if you go alot smaller on the front theres a chance the chain will rub on the swingarm pivot/axle point

either way you go, go for a happy meduim say 1 smaller on the front for acceleration or 3 on the rear

or maybe 2 larger on the rear for top end

    hope it helps
