Hi all, recently got a Speedfight 2, started riding it Friday just gone, been doing a fair bit of riding to get used to it, and on Sunday my brother noticed oil on the rear tyre, only on one side (left) he had a look and couldn't find where it was coming from so cleaned it off thinking I'd just rode through some, but today it happened again, he came down had a look, took the screw out and the oil just poured out, he thinks there's too much in there so it's leaking out, any other ideas? Between the crank case and the wheel, thanks in advance :)

i dont think it would be too much? maybe the screw has been threaded or not put back in properly?

It's the bit inbetween the wheel and the black bit, that's where it's leaking

You sure he didnt undo the gearbox oil screw ? make sure thats done up cause thats the only thing that hovers above the wheel and could be leaking. And i dont mean the dipstick i mean the bold right underneath the transmission case.

The screw, on the bottom picture, that's the one he undone, he was making sure there was some left in it coz he couldn't find the dipstick and didn't want me riding around with no oil in lol :/ but its all done up, the only place we could see that was leaking was between the transmission case and the wheel, so would this be the seals? The bottom of the case was covered in oil too

im sure that bolt is just to adjust the tightness of your rear brake

That bolt is to do with your rear brake and would not affect the leak. That bolt tightens the rear brake. Nothing else, ALSO I NOW know wat it is :) Nice and cheap parts around 4 pounds. Not sure of labour costs though, Its your gearbox OIL SEAL. I just remembered i know a mate who had the same problem so yeah do that. I BET you any money it fixes it. Good luck mate. Also its abit of a hefty job, Removal of clutch etc etc :)

haha spot on mate :) You wont need all of them but for the price they are you might aswell get them all incase u need some in the future. And good luck but i bet u its the gearbox oil seal. Also although the seal can look good to eye its tends to not be the case :)

yeah deffinetly, A couple of things u might want to know first. 1. Do not pull the oil seal out then put the new one in. FIRST remove the old oil seal, Make sure everything is PROPERLY PRiSTENE CLEAN and i mean a proper clean, the tiniest little stone can cause a leak in the seal so use cotton buds or something to proper clean and remove any debris. 2. Make sure its all dry and then insert new seal. Then Back on the road :) Good luck mate
