yo i took my vivacity for a proper ride for the first time today and it felt awful power wise didnt want to rev, no top end, not great acceleration theres clearly something wrong with my setup so i was wondering what set up people have on their speedfight or vivacity or any other peugeot that has the same engine? i have a technigas pipe, 17.5mm dellorto carb, 8.5g rollers, malossi closed cone filter, 100 main jet and derestricted inlet manifold i thought i would atleast touch about 45-50 with this but barely making 35 so i think i have something wrong and theres nowhere round my way i can take it with a dyno what set up do other peugeot owners have? or anybody able to give me any pointers? im used to piaggio,s (their easier lol)
somebody help me starting to get fucked off with it now went to start it this morning fired up then cut out
there is your problem "8.5g rollers", you want to be looking around 6g rollers. also what air filter are you using because a 100 main jet on pug engine sound big too. i have owned about 8 pugs in manny stages of tuning and they have always ended with rollers in the 5.5 to .65 range. as you tune your bike your power band get higher in the rev range so your rollers need to get lighter. you standard roller weight is 9g witch is massive, after fitting the pipe and derestricting you should drop to around 6.5-7. free flow air filter and a 17.5mm card you should drop a little drop again little again. after dropping to 6-6.5g you will need to reject your bike
just had a look on another forum and with a similar setup 17.5 carb and filter they have a 79-80 main jet and 7.5g rollers so will try that and see what happens im using a malossi closed cone filter would i need to change the idle jet? i wouldnt have thought i would need to
idle jet will need to be changed if you cant set it right on the air screw that jet sounds a bit better. my set up was: MHR Rep ported doppler crank stage 6 inlet 21mm dell card (92 jet) polini big evo filter italket inner rota Top performance nado pipe malossi multi 5.75 rollers. to say it was just a ported MHR Rep it went like stink
ah ok will try a 80 jet and 7.5 rollers also restrictor wise is the plate on the back of the variator held on with 3 screws the restrictor? as im used to piaggios where the restrictor is a washer infront of the variator
yes remove the plate and clean off any grease in there and your good. what year is the bike as the euro 2 engine had a restriction on the CDI limiting the RPM's euro 2 = Speedfight 3 and the vivacity 3
ah ok will take that out i thought it was there just to stop the rollers going flying its a 2001 vivacity
ah good good, i read on few sites that they have cut the green wire but i dont think i will risk it lol got an issue with wiring on the headlight now lol
NO, on a pug they had stupid wiring systems that are temperamental if it was restricted it better to pay £10 for new CDI, than £100 for now ACI unit because you cut a cable and fried it
yea im not touching the wiring on the CDI lol got issues with headlight but think i have sorted it now, will see 2moz do you reckon 7.5g rollers or 6.5g?
with it been a 50cc? i would say try the 7.5 it still 1.5g lighter then stock, but also if you jetting is way out it can give all the same problems your having so you need to sort that too
i just had a look for you and a leo vince TT comes with 6.3g rollers to be used with the 50cc engine so you need to be around the same size with you pipe
tried the 6.5g rollers and 80 main jet and its still bogged i put a larger jet seemed better but still bogged down the standard 12mm gurtner carb has 72 jet standard im stumped acceleration is good and if i hold quarter throttle it runs well and gets to 25 mph but as soon as i open it more thats when it bogs down
dellorto 17.5mm and gurtner 12mm the jetting will be nothing like the same. on a 70cc with a free flow on a dellorto i was only on a 92. when you say it bogs dose it just lose all power, or is it cutting in and out(coughing) if there is a total lose then the jet is too low and if coughing too rich
