Hello, I have a 2005 Derbi Senda 50cc 2 stroke Extreme with 2 problems that I need help with please if anyone can help. First off the oil light comes on and stays on when the engine is run above idle even with the oil level sender unpluged. What could cause this. Probably a short, but where do I start. Problem 2. This bike starts and runs good after 2 kicks without choke even cold in the morning, but the problem is that after driving more than 2 miles the bike starts loosing power and backfires shooting flames out the exhaust and some times it quits. The last times it happened we had to push start it to get it running again. It also seems to only run well when driving at max RPM. Anything midway is almost get off and push territory. Please Help
Check your spark plug for the Backfiring issues, or you may have a loss in compression. That could be the cause of your misfires. Could always take it down to a local Repair Specialist?
i would start by checking compression, this would cause it to loose power after 2 miles or when its warmed up edit:if the compression is alright then maybe not set up right, overfueling etc. has the problem just occurred or has it been a problem for a while? has anyone played with the carb jets or setting any mods done to it the more info the better really
I take it you have a manual choke, and you don't touch it and the bike starts on a cold morning, whip the plug out and see what colour it is, could be the choke is stuck on, so runs okay when cold, and is the reason it is killing the engine once warm. Or it could be that it is being choked by a huge mainjet, have you altered it ?
